Incipient Software Web Site

• Incipient is a leading software developer of enterprise-class, SAN storage virtualization and automated data migration software. I worked closely with Incipient’s executive board and Giella Design to create this complex web site.

  The company was going through substantial changes to the it’s positioning and visual identity. Because of this, there was a revolving door of designers. Each design team created a look and feel of the brand.

  Each design team was fired and their design trashed.

  Incipient settled an the design above. I programmed the front-end: the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript behaviors.

• The site architecture is complex. There are several layers of sub-pages. I used drop-down menus and a secondary navigation with it’s own set of menu hierarchy.

  This created a natural navigation and a transparent, informative user experience.

• I argued with management about the lengths of their forms, they where way too long. Some had 40 elements to fill out, and that one was to have a sales representative call you. I believe more people would respond if the forms were simpler.
